Roadside Enforcement Event: July 12-18, 2026

The propane industry should alert drivers that Operation Safe Driver Week will take place July 12–18, 2026, with increased traffic enforcement targeting both commercial motor vehicle and passenger vehicle drivers.

During the annual campaign, law enforcement officers will be watching for unsafe driving behaviors such as speeding, distracted driving, following too closely, improper lane changes, seat belt violations, and other traffic offenses. Drivers who commit violations may receive citations or warnings.

The enforcement effort is coordinated by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) and is designed to improve roadway safety through a combination of education and traffic enforcement.

With summer travel increasing traffic across Texas, now is a good time for propane companies to remind employees to practice defensive driving, eliminate distractions, obey posted speed limits, wear seat belts, and maintain safe following distances.

A brief safety reminder before July 12 can help reduce violations, protect your employees, and keep your fleet operating safely during this annual enforcement campaign.
