About the Scholarship
Foundation
Since 1997, the TPGA Scholarship Foundation has dedicated itself to assisting children and grandchildren of the Texas Propane Gas Association member companies to reach their goals of higher education. The Foundation has distributed nearly $250,000 worth of scholarships over the last 25 years. The Scholarship Foundation provides funding for exceptional students who will be pursuing a degree from a two-year college or four-year university or who will be enrolled in a technical or trade school. ​​​​

Eligibility Overview:

Residency: Texas resident.
-
Academic Status: Texas high school senior or undergraduate student.

Academic Requirement: Upper half of class GPA standing.
-
Enrollment: Must be enrolled full-time in the 2026-2027 academic year at an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school.

Industry Connection: Must be:

An employee, child, or grandchild of an employee of a current TPGA member company (membership dues paid for 2026).

The family member’s job must be directly related to the Texas propane industry.

Important notes:

One-Time Award: Previous recipients are not eligible to reapply.

Separate Application: Applicants must complete the TPGA application, even if applying for NPGA scholarships.

Selection Process: Applications reviewed and scored by an independent third-party higher education organization.

Award Distribution:

Recipients notified via email, Summer 2026.
-
Award checks are sent directly to the recipient's educational institution.
-
Funds can be applied to Fall 2026 or split between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
