Beginning June 1, 2020, container manufacturers will no longer have to be licensed and certified by the Railroad Commission of Texas, but will be required to register annually. A container manufacturer registration authorizes the manufacture, assembly, repair, testing and sale of LP-gas containers.

The fee is the same. The original registration fee is $1,000; the renewal fee is $600. The big difference is a company representative is no longer required.

Those container manufacturers interested in switching their RRC license to a RRC registration, if you have not already done so, please contact the Director of Alternative Fuels Safety, April Richardson at 512-463-6935 or at april.richardson@rrc.texas.gov.
