The FMCSA Regional Emergency Declaration 2021-001 was issued in response to damage as well as heating, and other fuel shortages, from severe winter storms in February and effects on people and property, including an immediate threat to human life or public welfare. The original declaration extension issued by the FMCSA was set to expire on March 19, 2021, at 11:59 PM, but has been EXTENDED for Kentucky, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, TEXAS, Virginia, and West Virginia until March 31, 2021. Affected states in direct support of relief efforts related to the severe winter storms are granted emergency relief from Parts 390 through 399 of Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations, which includes Hours of Service.
