Texas Added to Regional FMCSA Emergency Declaration: Hours of Service Are Waived

TPGA

Dear TPGA Members,

Due to COVID 19 severely impacting driver availability within the Texas propane delivery and transport business, TPGA has successfully lobbied for a waiver of Hours of Service for Texas effective January 20, 2022, ending on February 6, 2022. TPGA and its leadership worked with officials including the Texas Railroad Commissioner Wayne Christian, Texas State Senator Robert Nichols, Texas Department of Emergency Management, Texas Governor Gregg Abbott’s office, and the National Propane Gas Association. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration declaration waives the hours-of-service requirements named states for commercial vehicle operations delivering propane and other heating fuels in response to winter and high demand from consumers.

Sincerely, Bill Van Hoy Texas Propane Gas Association
